A Month of Paul and Start of Summer

Well there's no lie, I have been dreading the return of this month for a while. While June usually represents so many positive exciting things, it also represents one year since we lost my brother, Paul. It also represents Father's Day, and his birthday. SO many things so close together. Fortunately for me I had the opportunity to start the hard days of this month with my family. Got to spend time with my cousins, my grandma, my aunts and uncles, and my sweet friend Anna.

The start of June also marked the end of the school year and the start of summer. Happy hours, Dean's birthday party, last day of school, cascade bay and a soccer tournament.

After this summer began! We bought gerbils, played at parks, and went to the Mall of America! The boys were so grateful for the tickets we were gifted and had so much fun riding all the rides they wanted!

The rest of June continued the fun start we began with. The end of soccer, beautiful summer nights, poor air quality, the Mario movie (Gordie's first movie!),  and zoo trips with friends.

We ended the month with another trip to the cabin. It was beautiful weather, and the boys finally got big enough to do the Sea Caves hike with us! They loved the views and were proud of themselves for hiking 4 miles on my brother's birthday.

May-End of the School Year

Would it surprise anyone to hear this month was full of SPORTS!? The end of Thundercats hockey, the start of Spring soccer. We started it with a bang having TWO tournaments Mother's Day weekend. But Happy Mother's Day to me, the boys won the hockey tournament after some HARD FOUGHT games, and overtime and shootouts of course!

Weirdly enough this month Gordie also got REALLY sick with a high fever that wouldn't budge for a week and lot of grumpy snuggles with mom. We also put our Zoo membership to good use.

Then luckily all the signs of Spring started, flowers, new rose bushes in honor of Paul, birds, bunnies, bikes, and a new home project. A basement window!

Spring always means fun end of year school events. I got to go on Benny's first field trip-to the farm! We had two spring Carnivals at Deerwood, and the boys finished up their Kindergarten Early Pre-K and Third Grade years. And of course we had our annual Mother's Day (not on Mother's Day) Brunch at the Pancake House.

We ended the month with a trip to the cabin, first trip of the season. Lucky for us we got unseasonably warm weather and truly go to enjoy the beautiful weather and cold water. We went on our favorite water fall hike (though mosquitos this year are rough!) We got to ride the boat with papa and see the Sea Caves, and of course have dinner and play with machines at Little Nikki's. The boys were sad our favorite Coffee Sweet Shoppe didn't have icecream YET, but she promised us it would be there for our next visit.
