2024- A year of Happiness: January

As usual, my goal this year was to blog more. Quarterly to be exact. I guess it's appropriate that it's almost mid year and I'm just now getting to it? We will call it a bi-annual blog :)

This year I have completed my first year as an administrator at a school. This is probably why this blog is delayed. Working in this new capacity, with a husband doing the same thing, with 3 kids in activities, while still teaching fitness classes on the side + any time for me = BUSY :) But aren't we all?


January

Gordie started a new school, Primrose. He has grown SO much here! Going in he couldn't count, couldn't hold a pencil, failed his pre-school screening, didn't know his colors. Yes, yes, could we have taught him those things as parents? Sure, but we assumed he as learning them at school. We are so happy with the switch (He is too!) He also continued skating lessons this month which will prepare him for hockey in the fall!

Dean: Had a quieter month this month from sports (because of trip-See below!) But we enjoyed different activities with him.. But not bowling, because turns out he is just as competitive as us and was AWFUL when he didn't do well. lol

Benny: Really enjoyed his mini-mite Jamboree and continued to be his silly self, making us all laugh.... when we aren't tired of his constant jokes lol.

Mark-Maybe the most important person in January-The BIRTHDAY BOY! Mark turned 40 this month. We celebrate by spending time with his dad (Same birthday) and then spent the evening in Stillwater. We surprised him by flying in his Niece Mady and then hung out at a local bar with friends after a delicious dinner. We spent the night downtown and got a kid free evening thanks to the grandparents. 

Lastly, we ended the month in a big way by visiting the country's capital and seeing family. We went to DC and stayed in a beautiful hotel just outside downtown. We got to see my nieces and nephew, my aunt and cousins and had so much fun exploring all the sights together. We also got unseasonably warm weather which helped to de-thaw from the MN winter.
