Summer-School's Out, Birthdays, Summertime and Fun

School is finally out! May was busy and SICK for us. We spent most of it with either sick boys or sick parents but we still managed to find some moments of calm and fun. Flowers, grilled food, Mother's Day traditions, and long walks among nature and animals.

 Then came JUNE and Dean's 3rd Birthday. We celebrated his party the weekend before and he was excited for a special breakfast and a sweet gift bag with dinosaur themed gifts. He did say "mommy where's my balloon? Last year you gave me a balloon!" Which blew my mind because he is already remembering things from a year ago! We had a great party with all of our friends, his daycare buddies and family. We had a total of about 35 people here and it was crazy because Mark was sick with a stomach bug in preparation before but we made it work! Dinosaur shaped fruits and all :) Dean helped me make (well decorate) the gorgeous dinosaur cakes.

 

After school ended, we took a quick trip to our cabin. Or as Dean says it "the cavin". He was SO excited to be there and so sad when we left. He loves to throw rocks in the lake, watch for Eagles, watch movies, and go to the "restaurant" Little Nikki's. The only bummer about the trip was 2 hours of CRAZY biting flies, like you can't walk outside without being completely surrounded. And an intense wind that scared Dean and Benny so much we had to leave the beach :/ It was painful with sand flying everywhere. Needless to say, we preferred the weather there over the HOT 90's of the Cities.  

Benny continues to grow. 8 months then 9 months. Crawling, then standing. Eating baby food, feeding himself everything. It all happen even faster the second time around. Benny continues to show his own personality. He's precocious, curious and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. He's a mama's boy but LOVES his daddy. And he LOVES his dog and brother too.
